Heaven Vega Bronx nine year old girl commits suicide at family home after being told by her mother it was too early in the morning to be on the phone.

A nine-year-old girl has died after hanging herself at her family’s New York apartment after her mother reportedly told her not to be on her cellphone.

Heaven Vega died on Saturday after she tied a belt around her neck and hanged herself from her bed, according to the New York Post

The child’s body was found by her mother, Jennifer, inside their Bronx River Houses home on E 174th St near Bronx River Avenue in Soundview.

The child’s mother immediately called 911 as one of her sons administered CPR on Heaven until first responders arrived to the scene.

Paramedics rushed Heaven to St Barnabas Hospital where she was pronounced dead.

A neighbor told the nypost that Heaven and her mother got into a disagreement over her phone usage earlier that morning.

‘Apparently the girl woke up, and she wanted to get the phone to go on YouTube,’ the neighbor said.

‘But the mother told her, no, it was too early in the morning,’ the neighbor added.

‘Nowadays all kids have cellphones in their hands and all they do is watch YouTube,’ said a neighbor via the New York Daily News, who chose to stay anonymous.

Neighbors said that Heaven was the youngest of four siblings.

Told Zoraida Irizarry, ‘I don’t get it. She always had a smile on her face. I only ever saw her happy.’

‘I would come home and she would be sitting in the hallway doing her homework, I guess because it was quieter out there. ‘I don’t know how her mother can function after this.’

According to Irizarry, Heaven’s ‘devastated’ mother is blaming herself for her daughter’s suicide death

Authorities do not believe there was any criminality involved.

Not immediately clear was whether there had been prior episodes of self harm or signs of depression?
