Reese McKee is desperate to find a girl he met last New Year’s eve.
Seems love does not happily live here after all. This after a young woman, Katie, New Zealander, Reese McKee, 25 went on to publicly pine for has gone on to reject all associations with the young man she came to meet last new year’s ever in Hong Kong.
Having gone on to launch a Facebook page seeking the whereabouts of the woman, as the holiday seasons were once upon us, news of Reese McKee’s story flooded the world.
At the time he had been hopeful, reuniting with the woman who he lost touch with after a chance new year’s eve encounter with, after she had gone on to lose her friends, might bring love and meaning back to his life. He had even gone so far as to say that reuniting with the woman might offer self discovery.
Nevertheless since word has gotten out that Reece McKee was on a hunt to reunite with the woman, named Katie, who had offered the young man an invitation to ‘find her’ after they parted, it seems Katie wants nothing to do with Reese.
Upon having been discovered, the woman known as Katie who clued Reese McKee she lived in Washington DC has gone on to delete every single social media account within hours of being discovered after being barraged with messages.
Told Reese McKee: ‘The Facebook thing was getting out of hand. They were starting to infringe on other people. They tracked down every Katie in the DC area, which is a bit much,’
‘We found the girl. She is from DC, she’s not there at the moment, but she’s sorta taken all her public profiles offline for a little bit.’
To date Reese McKee tells Katie has yet to reach out to him, but he’s still hopeful she may choose to reach out to him once the furor dies down.
Yet others on the web doubt that is likely to be the case, given the fact that their pair’s chance encounter took place nearly a year ago on a single night and since then Katie could have gone through a whole myriad of relationships.
Or as one blogger on the web went on to wonder: ‘Or maybe it’s just enough time for some lonely guy to work himself into a delusional fantasy that she’s waiting on the other side of it for him.’
Yet perhaps feeling somewhat embarrassed about the incident, Reese McKee has now also gone on to delete his Facebook profile as well as the Facebook event that facilitated.
In the end one wonders if Reece McKee has facilitated a make believe voyage of love and wanton make-believe? Then again who amongst us can’t resist the urge to wonder what could have been if one chance encounter would have been allowed a chance to gather muster, then again sometimes life is just full of momentary passing experiences that we ought to value for just that…
