Jose Parla: Walls, Diaries and Paintings

SHARE

A Miami influenced legend, inspired by Abstract Expressionist and New Symbolism, simultaneously– Parla encapsulates urban realities, with an upsurge of mixed media devices that both evoke and transcend personal memory and empiricism.

Massive wall pieces, limitlessly explore the possibilities of any city or dream, and it is this from this very freedom, that Parla is inspired to create.

Titles range from “The Struggle Continues,” to “Shout in the Streets” and “Biographical Dance of Combined Stories.” Each peers through a different aspect of societal experiences, to concentrically renew or remind us of the true artist’s most refined lenses. Anywhere from 4 x 6 feet to 6 x 12, his pieces are exhibited at 505 west 24th until April 16th, 2011. They start at $60,000 and reach $125,000 for the wall pieces, while the smaller watercolors start at $15,000.

The exhibit goes on until April 16.
