Diego Binetti stated that he drew his inspiration for his Spring/Summer 2011 line presented last at New York Fashion Week on September 11 from Mother Earth. Binetti has embodied this in his gorgeous collection through the use of carefully selected natural hues of beige’s, blues, yellows and greens.
One might expect stylistically that drawing inspiration from “Mother Earth” with all it’s hippie and bohemian connotations would have yielded a modernized wardrobe for a contemporary Janis Joplin—but this couldn’t be further from what Binetti has achieved here. No flower power dresses or tragic fringed vests in sight; Binetti has created a collection of truly magnificent pieces that look something closer to what Mother Earth would have created in consultation with Daisy of The Great Gatsby as her style director.
