The event itself was everything one would expect. Hosted by PR-described “Real Housewives of New York City GBFF” Derek Warburton, the party drew the standard crowd of fashionable flashbulb addicts. A few former Project Runway cast members, Malik So Chic, and various members of the Real Housewives casts milled about to a soundtrack of MGMT, Vampire Weekend, and Little Boots.
A final note on refreshments: Since the vodka brand in question likely donated their product to support Housing Works I will leave it unnamed as an acknowledgment of their corporate charity. That being said, the only reason to get a drink at this function was for social lubrication. Grape-flavored vodka and tonics elicited memories of childhood’s grape Dimetapp, and let’s not even talk about the bubblegum-flavored signature cocktail. Oh dear…
