The evening proceeded with a performance by Lady Rizo who dazzled the crowd with her comedic wit and powerful pipes, think Amy Poehler meets Amy Winehouse. Her performance of “Billie Jean” and “Poker face” certainty got the young crowd on their well-heeled, pedicured feet.

Amongst the stylish fashion set was handbag designer Michelle Vale who I struck up a conversation with after admiring her eel-skinned clutch. Her unique concept of interchangeable hardware in her handbags left me quite intrigued and even speechless. Definitely the answer to everyone women’s problem of mis-matched accessories! (Note to our editor – we need to feature Michelle!)

I continued to be in awe as magician Kevin Nicholas fascinated the crowd with his card, fork and ring tricks. Women gaped in disbelief as Kevin was able to bend and practically dismantle a fork with his mind, mysteriously link locked rings together, and somehow have a tattoo of the card I selected on his right finger. Just how did he manage to pull a deck of cards out of his mouth and have random objects appear into my hands out of thin air? Only the magician knows, even after I later discreetly prodded him for his secrets.

Oh and before I forget Michael, one thing, ‘Happy Birthday, and next time F Scott Fitzgerald gets round to writing his next novel I’ll be sure to ask him to feature you. Big kiss!”

  1. This article was definitely well written. I just felt I was with the writer at the party as she was describing the scene at the W Penthouse. There was so much interesting entertainment that you wished you were there at this Chic Birthday Bash.
