A shooting at a Gastonia, North Carolina rural home has left two women dead, two others injured with authorities saying the main suspects dying during a multi state manhunt.
Victoria ‘Heather’ Moore, 50, and Megan ‘Josiah’ Moore, 38, were identified as the two fatal victims of the shooting inside a home in the 2600 block of Forbes Road, south of Gastonia, near Charlotte, on Thursday.
Two other victims remain in hospital in a critical but stable condition according to the Gaston County Police Department.
Multi-state police hunt for 2 wanted suspects
Gaston police identified one of the deceased woman’s daughter, Camryn Moore, 26, and a male, Cory Armstrong, 29, as the suspects in the shooting. The wanted suspects took their own lives during an ensuing multi-state manhunt.
Camryn and Armstrong lived at the address and fled following the shooting. Police had sought the help of the US Marshals Service to track them down, where they faced two counts of murder, and two counts of attempted murder.
On Friday, an Ohio State Highway Patrol located their vehicle and attempted to pull them over, before being led on a pursuit according to a Facebook release from the Gaston County Police Department.
The duo are said to have crashed after attempting to avoid spike strips laid out by law enforcement.
Officers then reported hearing two gunshots going off inside their vehicle. A drone used to observe the suspects’ car led to the two wanted suspects found dead inside.
Not immediately clear was the relationship and dynamics of the two wanted suspects to each other.

Notice of the quadruple shooting came after police receiving a 911 call on Thursday about shots fired, according to The Charlotte Observer.
When police arrived, four victims were found inside. A neighbor told WSOC-TV that five or six shots were fired.

‘The coordination between our detectives and our local, state and federal law enforcement partners was critical in tracking these suspects across multiple states.
‘Although the search for the suspects has ended, our investigation has not. Gaston County Police will continue working to fully investigate the circumstances surrounding this shooting and remains committed to protecting and serving our community.’
Gastonia County ‘happy’ life upended
According to her LinkedIn profile, Victoria worked for a commerce company in data processing.
In a question and answer posted to the company site, Victoria wrote, ‘I have five children — four girls and one boy — and they keep me busy. We love outdoor movies, s’mores around the firepit, and game nights. There is never a dull moment in our crazy house. I love it!
‘We have a huge farmhouse with a couple of acres, too many animals, and a never-ending list of things we need to do. It’s my happy place.’
Alongside the question and answer she also shared an image of herself out for dinner alongside two of her daughters and Camryn.
Authorities have yet to say what led to the shooting at the Gastonia home and why the suspects targeted their victims.
Officials continue to investigate.
