The bodies of five people and several dead animals were discovered on a rural Oregon property, with the ‘quintuple homicide’ suspect found dead by suicide in a car this weekend, according to authorities.
Five people and ‘several’ domesticated animals were found dead on a remote property outside of Forest Grove, 25 miles east of Portland, just before 5:30 a.m., Saturday according to the Washington County Sheriff’s Office.
Officers came across the carnage following a report of a vehicle on fire.
Forest Grove ‘quintiple homicide’
The suspect, identified as Benjamin Charles Parker, 36, was found dead the following day inside a car in Enumclaw — a small city roughly 50 miles southwest of Seattle and some 200 miles away from where the five deceased individuals were found. Parker’s cause of death was determined to be from a self inflicted gunshot wound to the head, KOIN6 reported.
The identities of the five slain people have not yet been released, and authorities have not yet said whether the victims were related. Authorities nevertheless indicated that the shootings were not random and that the gunman knew his victims.
Addressing reporters, Washington County Detective Shannon Wilde said the deaths were being investigated as a ‘quintuple homicide’. Investigators stated that they didn’t believe the killings were a ‘random act.’
According to Sheriff Caprice Massey, Parker knew the victims, while declining to say how they knew each other and what led up to the carnage.

How were quintiple homicide suspects connected to killer?
To date, few details were revealed about the manner in which the five people were murdered, or how the vehicle fire and dead animals are related to the investigation.
Initial emergency communications indicated that multiple deceased people were found near a vehicle at the scene. At least one victim reportedly had an apparent gunshot wound to the head, while investigators also observed what appeared to be duct tape and burn injuries.
Records show Parker lived in the home where the bodies were found at one point, but it’s unclear whether he still resided there, Oregon Public Broadcasting reported.
‘In my 22 years here, I have not been a part of or witnessed a scene quite this complex involving this type of an investigation,’ Massey told reporters.
‘I recognize that this incident is deeply concerning to our community. Our investigators are working to determine what happened, and we have dedicated every available resource to this case,’ Massey said.
