Jeremy Williams, Alabama death row inmate executed by legal injection for 2021 the abuse and murder of Kamarie Holland, 5-year-old girl. Entire crime was recorded on cellphone. Condemned man had other prior history of abuse and murder of children.
Define senseless? An Alabama man who was condemned to capital punishment for the 2021 murder of a 5-year-old girl was on Thursday night put to death by lethal injection.
Jeremy Williams, 40, a death row inmate was executed over the s*xual abuse and murder of 5-year-old girl, Kamarie Holland in 2021.
Jeremy reportedly did not object to his execution with Governor Kay Ivey declining to intervene, allowing the death sentence to proceed Thursday evening.
Depravity and evil personified
Williams who pleaded guilty to his charges had been on death row for the last two years after his trial in 2024, WSB-TV reported.
An Alabama law requires a jury verdict in any case where the death penalty is sought, necessating Williams’ case to go to trial despite the guilty plea. The jurors took 90 minutes before they found him guilty on all charges.
According to details released from the governor’s office, on Dec. 13, 2021, Williams paid Holland’s mother $2,500 so he could abuse the child for one hour. During that time, he subjected the girl to methamphetamine and prolonged inappropriate touching before strangling her to death. Her body was left beneath a tarp, with Holland recording the episode on his cell phone, the release said.
‘There are few words to adequately describe the depth and depravity of Jeremy Williams’ evil act,’ Ivey said. ‘The unspeakable nature of this crime is exactly why we have the death penalty statute in the state of Alabama. Kamarie Holland is an innocent girl who is no longer with us, but she finally received justice tonight. May God bless little Kamarie Holland.’
The time of death was August 13 6:16 p.m. CDT.
Under the governor’s directive, Williams’ execution had been scheduled to occur within a 30-hour window beginning at midnight Aug. 13, 2026, and ending at 6 a.m. Aug. 14, 2026.
The Alabama Supreme Court authorized the execution on June 16, 2026.
5-year-old was exploited by the very people who were suppose to protect her
Alabama Attorney General Steve Marshall issued a statement Thursday evening following the execution of Jeremy Tremaine Williams:
‘Justice has been served. In addition to molesting and murdering five-year-old Kamarie Holland in 2021, Williams confessed to a series of violent crimes against children. He killed his infant daughter in Alaska, r*ped at least two other small children, and s*xually abused his young cousin. At his own request, his execution was set and carried out. This is one of the most atrocious crimes we have seen against an innocent child. This lack of humanity is hard to comprehend.
‘For her entire life, little Kamarie was exploited by the people around her who were supposed to keep her safe. First, by a father who refused to follow a court order keeping Kamarie and her brother away from their mother, then by a mother who sold her innocent child, and then by Williams, who assaulted and murdered her. At trial, the court wrote that Williams’s actions ‘were so shockingly evil in everything that you did that there’s nothing that I can order to give you what you truly deserve.
‘My office will always stand for victims and fight to ensure that the perpetrators who commit the most violent crimes in Alabama are punished to the maximum extent of the law. It is my sincere hope tonight that survivors of Williams’s crimes know that he can never hurt them, or another innocent child, again.’
The Alabama Department of Corrections (ADOC) provided details of Williams’ activity leading up to the execution.
On August 12, Williams had five visitors and two phone calls. He accepted his breakfast, lunch, and dinner trays. The ADOC said he also had assorted vending machine snacks and sodas throughout the day.
On August 13, he had six visitors and no phone calls. He refused his breakfast tray, accepted his lunch tray, and refused his dinner tray. In addition, he had a Philly Cheesesteak sandwich and assorted snacks throughout the day.
