Elizabeth ‘Liz’ Waddell, North Carolona therapist goes missing during solo vacation to Grenada, Caribbean holiday getaway as husband, issues plea for safe return.
The husband of a 44-year-old North Carolina therapist has pleaded for the safe return of his wife after the woman going missing during a solo trip to the Caribbean island of Grenada.
Elizabeth ‘Liz’ Waddell was last seen at the Grand Anse Beach in St. George’s, Grenada, on Wednesday, July 22, after failing to re-appear after heading down to go for a swim according to a news release from the Royal Grenada Police Force.
‘We specially appeal to fishermen, boat operators, and residents along the southern coastline to report any sightings or relevant information that may assist in locating Ms. Waddell,’ they wrote.
Her husband, Cailen Waddell, who shares an adopted daughter with Liz, pleaded for Liz’s safe return in a July 24 Facebook post, writing: ‘I am on my way there now to help search. I expect nothing less than Liz’s safe return — so please sent [sic] your love, light, thoughts and prayers our way.’
Adding, ‘If any of you have connections to the island —can you please share the following with your contacts there?’
It is not immediately clear who Liz, 44, was traveling with or if she was on a solo getaway.
An about describes Liz as standing at five feet, five inches tall with a medium build along with having short blonde hair.
Explained family friend Amanda Romano-Harmon according to WTVD, ‘She’s an amazing person, and we want to bring her home.’
‘It seems that she went down to the pier and left her towel on the pier and went for a swim.’
Anyone who locates Liz or has any information surrounding her whereabouts is being asked to contact the South Saint George Police Station or the Criminal Investigation Department.

Waddell built Art of Movement Physical Therapy from the ground up, bringing a decade in physical therapy and more than 20 years in fitness and dance to the practice, according to her website.
Her bio said: ‘When not helping people feel awesome, Liz stays active with olympic weightlifting, pole dancing, CrossFit, hiking, traveling, and taking walks with her husband, Cailen, to patronize the downtown Cary small business scene.’
