Carrollton apartment murder-suicide: Sharika Kiera Porter, Georgia woman shot and killed by Switzon Porter who then takes own life. Domestic violence tragedy comes months after the couple marrying.
A newly married couple are dead in a suspected murder-suicide which took place Monday afternoon at a Georgia area apartment complex.
Officers were called Monday to River Pointe Apartments on Lovvorn Road in Carrollton where they found 35-year-old Sharika Kiera Porter and her husband, 39-year-old Switzon Porter, dead inside their unit, according to the Carrollton Police Department. Police said a juvenile family member (Shakira’s son) discovered the bodies after hearing gunshots and called 911, WLBB reported.
Investigators believe Switzon shot his wife and then himself following an argument, and the case is being treated as a murder-suicide, with no other suspects being sought.

The tragedy comes just months after the couple marrying in March, social media posts revealed.
Sharika Porter’s father, Brad Hudson railed against Switzon in a Facebook post, slamming him for killing her out of jealousy.
Wrote the father in part, ‘Our Lives Changed yesterday because of the act of a coward punk named Switzon Porter. He took the life of my Beautiful daughter because of his jealousy and whatever demon that was controlling his mind.’
He remembered his daughter as someone ‘who would go out of her way to help anyone’ and said the family is now focused on caring for her three sons.
Authorities said the case remains under ongoing investigation.
