An Arizona stand-up comedian who was diagnosed with terminal cancer allegedly travelled thousands of miles to try to kill his ex-wife only to end up killing her father instead. The ex husband was found dead in the woods a day later.
Matthew Becker, 61, was a stand-up comedian and owner of Chuckleheads, a comedy club in Bisbee, Arizona, according to AZFamily. After receiving a terminal cancer diagnosis, he reportedly travelled from Arizona to Alaska with a plan to murder his ex-wife.
Becker allegedly waited outside of his ex-wife’s hair salon in Anchorage until she arrived to open the business on March 14. She was unable to open the door because the lock had been tampered with, at which point Becker got out of his vehicle and fired multiple bullets at her only to miss, according to court records.

The victim ran away from Becker as fled the area as the un-named ex wife called 911. When police arrived, she told them that she was unaware Becker was in Alaska, and that she feared for the safety of her 87-year-old father, who she lived with.
Officers went to the victim’s residence and reportedly found her father had been shot to death.
Becker prior to being discovered deceased was facing charges of first-degree murder and third-degree assault in connection with the Saturday attacks on his ex-wife and former father-in-law, Romaine Clark, 87.
Becker was found dead a day later ‘in the woods’ of Eagle River, according to a police press release. The cause and manner of the ex husband’s death was not immediately clear.
