Krystal Farmer, Flint Township, Michigan mom arrested abandoning 2 special needs kids in filthy home. Woman also going by the name of Krystal Rose of Flushing on social media. So hungry were the neglected children one of them was found trying to eat raw spoiled meat. 

A Flint Township, Michigan mom is facing several felony charges for allegedly abandoning 2 special needs kids in a filth ridden home for several days.

Notice of the calamity came following a neighbor calling 911, requesting a welfare check following concerns that Krystal Farmer had abandoned her two young special needs children in filth ridden conditions.

When officers arrived at the home, police say trash covered the floors, making it difficult to walk normally. According to a Facebook post with accompanying distressing video of the shambles home, police found feces smear along wallsat a child’s height.’

One child was trying to eat raw, spoiled meat when officers found them

The release further stated officers not finding clean clothes for the children to wear, no food ready to eat, along with no phones or tablets for the children to call the outside world.

Stated the release in part, ‘It was a house that had been reduced to survival conditions, and two vulnerable children were left inside it alone. One child was trying to eat raw, spoiled meat when officers found them.’

Following Krystal Rose’s arrest, the Genesee County Prosecutor’s Office authorized seven felony charges against the mother, including: two counts felony child abandonment, two counts felony child abuse in the second degree, two counts felony child abuse in the second degree in the presence of another child along with one count felony lying to a peace officer during a violent crime investigation.

‘Their mother, the person who should have been their fiercest protector, the one voice meant to calm their fears and meet their needs, walked away. No caregiver stepping in, no safeguards. Just absence,’ stated the Facebook post. ‘Instead of being shielded from harm, they were left alone to endure it. While her children endured filth, hunger, and fear, she prioritized herself over their safety, abandoning them to survive on their own.’

Concerned neighbor had requested welfare check

The neighbor, Christy Ogles-Campbell told WNEM she suspected the neglect had gone on since September, with the woman saying she was horrified and shocked to the degree of denigration and neglect found at the residence.

‘Pray for these little boys,’ said Ogles-Campbell. ‘Pray for them. I really hope that those little boys can stay together, because truly that is all that they have is each other.’

Not immediately were what resources had been availed to the mother if any to contend with the debilitating conditions of her special needs children and what led up to the parent leaving the helpless children on their own.

The children have since been taken into safe conditions.

Police are reminding people to speak up if they see something and that one call can make a difference.
