Two Long Island teen girls have died after the BMW vehicle they were traveling in crashed in Hicksville, Nassau police said.
Alex Duryea and Lindsey Rose Parke, both 19 of Levittown were passengers of a BMW being driven by a 23-year-old male driving westbound on Old Country Road when the driver lost control around 11:30 p.m, Friday night.
The vehicle crossed into oncoming traffic and struck a tree and then hit a building.
What led to BMW driver losing control and crashing?
Both women suffered severe trauma and were pronounced dead at the scene, News12 reported.
The driver was hospitalized. Police have yet to publicly identify the driver or his condition. Not immediately clear is what led to the driver losing control, whether speeding or driving under the influence were factors.
The tragedy led to family members paying tributes on social media.

Levittown 19-year-old female victims remembered
In the aftermath of the tragedy, family shared funeral arrangements, stating that wake services for Parke would be held at Thomas F. Dalton Funeral Home, located at 2786 Hempstead Turnpike in Levittown, on Wednesday, Jan. 28.
Visiting hours are scheduled for 2 p.m. to 4 p.m. and again from 6 p.m. to 8 p.m., according to the post.

It remained unclear if the un-identified 23-year-old driver would face any charges. The investigation remains ongoing, police said.
