Lakewood, California shooting leaves mom & dad dead & 17 year old, 4th person, adult female family member is sole survivor. No known motive.
California authorities are investigating what they believe to be a ‘domestic’ incident which led to 3 family members of a Lakewood family including a 17-year-old girl being shot dead with a fourth person, an adult female being the sole survivor.
Authorities declined to share the identities of the victims and their relationship to each other while saying they believe that they were investigating a murder-suicide.
A follow up report, Thursday evening indicated that the deceased included a father, a mother and their 17-year-old daughter. A surviving adult female, was believed to be an adult daughter.

Authorities stressed that there was no threat to the community, describing the shooting as an ‘isolated’ incident.
Lieutenant Daniel Vizcarra from the Los Angeles County Sheriff’s Department Homicide Bureau and Captain Daniel Holguin addressing press stated that they were attempting to verify that all those involved in the Lakewood residence shooting were family members.
Notice of the tragedy came following reports of a deadly assault at a Lakewood residence at the 5800 block of Lorelei Avenue and South st, Thursday morning just on 8 a.m. Vizcara addressing press said investigators had yet to identify the caller and where the call ‘originated’.
Upon arriving at the scene an ‘extremely distraught’ adult female ran out of the home. She reportedly didn’t have any injuries when she met with police.
The woman is assumed to be a member of the family and was taken in for questioning. Police confirmed she is currently not a suspect in the case. Vizcarra said, ‘We do believe she is family, but investigators have not interviewed her yet.’

All three victims – a male, a female, and the teen – had suffered gunshot wounds to their upper torso and were declared dead at the scene.
A search of the residence led to authorities discovering a gun at the home, believed to be the murder-weapon, NBC Los Angeles reported.
Neighbors stated the family living at the Lakewood home for 20 years leading up to the shooting. Another neighbor said a family of five lived at the home: a father, mother and three daughters. Two of the daughters were adults who had since moved away, he said.
Family members of the deceased had gathered about a block away from the home on Thursday afternoon as investigators canvassed the scene.
