Self defense? Renee Nicole Good, Minneapolis female driver, 37, shot & killed by ICE during operation as Department of Homeland Security insists the shooting was done to save lives and that the driver, a woman married to another woman had ‘weaponized her vehicle in an act of domestic terrorism.’
Self defense? An Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE) agent shot and killed a female driver in Minneapolis on Wednesday after demonstrators blocked agents during an immigration-related operation, the Department of Homeland Security stated.
ICE agents were conducting targeted operations near 33rd Street and Portland Avenue, close to Powderhorn Park, when a white woman, 37, since identified as Renee Nicole Good, a mother of three, allegedly ‘weaponized her vehicle, attempting to run over our law enforcement officers in an attempt to kill them,’ Homeland Security spokesperson Tricia McLaughlin said in a statement.

‘An ICE officer, fearing for his life, the lives of his fellow law enforcement and the safety of the public, fired defensive shots,’ McLaughlin reiterated. Adding, ‘He used his training and saved his own life and that of his fellow officers. The alleged perpetrator was hit and is deceased.’
DHS claimed the middle-aged white woman ‘weaponized her vehicle’ and called her actions an ‘act of domestic terrorism.’
Good was a poet and mother of three children who grew up in Colorado Springs. She was married to a comedian named Timothy Macklin who died in 2023 and now lives in Minneapolis with her female partner.
A regard of the video, appeared to show the driver moving away from the officers and not towards them when gunshots were fired. Photos of the woman’s car showed children’s toys inside, including a plush animal and a child’s drawing.
Witnesses claimed the woman and her wife were acting as legal observers and filming the protest when she was shot.
‘That’s my wife… I have a six-year-old at school… we’re new here we don’t have anyone,’ video shared on X stated.

Should Minneapolis ICE agent face charges in mom’s shooting death?
(Democrat) Minneapolis Mayor Jacob Frey pushed back on DHS’s narrative in a press conference Wednesday afternoon.
‘They are already trying to spin this as an action of self defense,’ Frey said, referring to ICE. ‘Having seen the video of myself, I want to tell everybody directly that is b—s—.’
Minnesota Governor Tim Walz echoed Frey’s analysis, saying in a statement released on X: ‘I’ve seen the video. Don’t believe this propaganda machine. The state will ensure there is a full, fair, and expeditious investigation to ensure accountability and justice.’
The victim’s mother, Donna Ganger speaking to the Minneapolis Star Tribune told the outlet, ‘Renee was one of the kindest people I’ve ever known.’ Adding, ‘She was extremely compassionate. She’s taken care of people all her life. She was loving, forgiving and affectionate. She was an amazing human being.’
Video posted to social media shows several agents approaching a burgundy SUV in the middle of the street and ordering the driver to get out. When one agent grabs the driver’s side door handle, the car reverses and then drives forward.
An agent standing near the front of the vehicle draws his firearm and fire three shots at the vehicle, the video shows. The vehicle then crashes into a parked car and hits a light pole.
Minneapolis ICE agent went overboard says FBI official
Reiterated an outraged Frey to ICE; ‘Get the f**k out of Minneapolis.’
Adding: ‘We do not want you here. Your stated reason for being in this city is safety and you are doing exactly the opposite.’
‘What they are doing is causing chaos and distrust. They are ripping families apart, sowing chaos in the streets and, in this case, quite literally killing people,’ Frey further added. ‘This was an agent recklessly using power that resulted in somebody dying, getting killed.’
Homeland Security Secretary Kristi Noem during a press conference said that the agents’ vehicles got stuck in the snow and they were trying to push them out when the woman ‘attacked them.’
Noem confirmed that the agency had deployed more than 2,000 officers to the Twin Cities and already made ‘hundreds and hundreds’ of arrests.
Wednesday’s shooting marks a dramatic escalation of the latest in a series of immigration enforcement operations in major American cities under the Trump administration. It’s at least the fifth person killed in a handful of states since 2024.
The twin cities of Minneapolis and St. Paul have been on edge since the Department of Homeland Security announced Tuesday that it had launched the operation, with more than 2,000 agents and officers expected to participate in the crackdown tied in part to allegations of fraud involving Somali residents.
