Garrett and Meredith Dutcher missing Logan, Utah couple found dead hours after leaving concerning note according to family members. Authorities investigate. 

A Utah couple who left a ‘concerning’ note for their family before shortly disappearing on Sunday afternoon were found dead, Monday morning, Logan, Utah authorities stated.

Garrett Dutcher, 41, and Meredith Dutcher, 42, are alleged to have left a ‘typed up note’ for family members that led to relatives expressing concern according to the Logan Police Department.

While investigators declined to describe the contents of the letter, it was revealed the note stating what to do with their property. At the time of the couple’s abrupt disappearance, the couple’s vehicle was located at their home.

What led to Logan, Utah couple’s deaths? 

‘The note provided instructions on what to do with their property and vehicle left at home,’ Logan police said in part in a release. ‘It is believed that the Dutchers may have left their residence on foot.’

Tragedy was only a few hours away.

Come Monday morning, around 10 a.m, hunters found two bodies near the Logan River in unincorporated Cache County, about five miles west of the city. The Cache County Sheriff’s Office and Logan City Police responded to the location and confirmed their identities.

The causes of their deaths are under investigation.

‘Our thoughts and condolences are with the family and friends of the deceased during this tragic and difficult time,’ the sheriff’s office said.

Authorities declined to comment on social media speculation that the couple taking their own lives, in a ‘joint suicide pact’. Others meanwhile argued that ‘anyone could’ve typed out the letter.’ 

A blog post dated June 25, 2008 posted about the ‘love birds… Meredith and Garrett Dutcher,’ having a wedding dinner.

Authorities continue to investigate.
