Probably not the mother of the year… A Florida mom is accused of beating her teen son with a broomstick and attacking him with cleaning supplies after the boy failing to complete his chores.
Maria Carla Rodriguez, 37, of Miami-Dade County was arrested Monday night after the alleged attack at the family’s Miami area home earlier that night.
Rodriguez allegedly woke her teenage son from sleep around 9:20 p.m. when she discovered he hadn’t completed his chores, according to the Miami-Dade Sheriff’s Office.

The parent ordered the boy to soap up dishes in the kitchen sink only for the boy to drop knife leading to the mom picking up the utensil and poking at him with the sharp object.
As the boy dodged his mom’s back and forth digs, Rodriguez is alleged to have then picked up a broom and started beating the boy with it.
The assault left the teen bruised across both arms and chest, Local10.com reported.
But there was more to come.
It was after sending the boy to the bathroom to scrub the toilet that Rodriguez allegedly sprayed the teen in the face with a cleaning product, leaving his eyes red and swollen according to an arrest report.
The mom was arrested shortly after a family member placing a 911 call.

During questioning, Rodriguez denied attacking her son, telling police only that she got in a fight over balancing chores and spending time with friends.
Rodriquez further insisted she had no idea how her son’s body had become covered in bruises, along with the boy’s eyes being irritated.
She was charged with aggravated assault with a deadly weapon and aggravated battery with a deadly weapon, and remains in jail with bond yet to be set, according to the outlet.
