Suspect was seen getting out of his vehicle at Dallas Walmart parking lot and chasing romantic partner and shooting
The unidentified suspect was found deceased of a self inflicted gunshot wound in a black sedan vehicle he had followed his romantic partner in.
Dallas Fire-Rescue confirmed the two women were stabilized after being taken to a local hospital.
The incident took place around 3:20 p.m. at the 9300 block of Forest Lane near Interstate 635 when the store and parking lot were full, WFAA reported.
Witnesses described seeing the man get out of a black sedan and begin chasing a woman through the parking lot, firing multiple shots.
‘… I could see her face,’ Teva Watson told WFAA. ‘She was, I don’t know what word to use, but she was frantic. And she started running.’
Watson said he and a couple of Walmart employees ran to help her.
‘There was a lot of blood. A lot of blood,’ he said. ‘But she was talking.’
No known motive
He said he retrieved the basket the woman was pushing because it had her cell phone in it and she wanted to call her family.
Recalled witness Sirrano Keith Baldeo via FOX4, ‘She was running that way, and he was chasing her.’
Adding, ‘He cornered her between two cars and then just started shooting, shooting, shooting, shooting.’
After firing off three to four gunshots, the suspect was seen running back to his black sedan where he fired a fatal gunshot, ending his life.
A search of the suspect’s car led to the recovery of two guns.
Both the romantic partner and bystander were not identified and neither were reported to have critical injuries and were both expected to survive.
Authorities did not say what led up to the man chasing the female victim and seeking to shoot her.
The Walmart Spercenter is located in the Lake Highlands area near the border with Richardson. Dallas police said the investigation is ongoing.
