Cupcake owner killed in car crash involving school bus according to Auburn, Alabama authorities with victim pronounced dead at the scene.
A local cupcake owner and prominent member of the Auburn community was killed in a car crash involving a school bus according to Alabama authorities.
The wreck happened just after 8 a.m, Tuesday, November 18, in the 1000 block of East University Drive at Alfa Court, AL reported.
Jennifer Merwin Cooper, 42, of Auburn was identified as the victim according to Lee County Coroner Daniel Sexton.
Cause of tragic collision involving school bus that killed cupcake owner yet to be released
Few details have been released, but Auburn police officials said the driver was pronounced dead on the scene.
No other injuries were reported.
The Auburn Police Department Traffic Homicide Unit responded, and an investigation was initiated.
Cupcake owner was beloved community member involved in variety of initiatives
Cooper according to her Linkedin profile is the owner of GiGi’s Cupcakes in Opelika, Alabama, and Columbus, Georgia, along with being a mom of two children, and a former science teacher.
A previous profile in the Opelika Observer stated Jennifer Cooper serving cupcakes to the community for 15 years.
Cooper along with her husband according to the profile had been involved in donating birthday cakes to local children in foster care since 2018.
Other than donating birthday cakes, the Coopers partner with United Way and local schools for fundraising initiatives, the profile stated. Never mind the irony of Cooper’s untimely death involved a crash with a school bus.
Authorities had yet to state what led to the fatal crash along with culpability.
