A New Mexico man has blamed a cockroach for sending him an encrypted message instructing him to go and kill two men….

Alexis Najera Hernandez, 25, was arrested and charged with two open counts of murder in connection to a slaying at a South Valley, Albuquerque, N.M home, Friday night which involved him fatally shooting two individuals after the man telling police he had received ‘an encrypted message in a cockroach,’ that he ‘needed to kill.’

Hernandez following his arrest was booked into the Metropolitan Detention Center on Saturday morning, according to the Bernalillo County Sheriff’s Office.

Authorities declined to identify the two victims killed. It was later revealed that one of the victims was the property owner, NBC News reported.

Along with the two victims, there were three other adults along with the two young children inside the house, thought to have witnessed the slayings.

According to the arrest warrant affidavit filed at the Bernalillo County Metropolitan Court, deputies responded to reports of gunfire in southwest Albuquerque just before 10:30 p.m. When deputies arrived, they were met at the front door by Hernandez, who ‘had a firearm on his waistband and a Marine Corps Sabre on his hip,’ the arrest warrant stated the Albuquerque Journal reported.

Hernandez told deputies he was in the Marines and ‘had to do what he had to do,’ the warrant states. He then allegedly stated there were two dead bodies inside the residence.

Once inside the house, deputies found one dead man ‘with possible gunshot wounds’ in the front of the house and a second man with apparent stab wounds in an attached apartment.

Following his detainment, Hernandez told police that one of the dead men, whom he believed was a friend, had been stalking him and placing cameras in light fixtures, the warrant claimed.

Hernandez is further alleged to have told officers that he was also ‘hearing creepy voices coming from the vents’ and ‘had been getting signs that he had to end [one of the victims] before he ended him,’ as directed by a cockroach.

The location of the instigating cockroach which had instructed him to kill was not immediately clear….
