Julian Simpson a 30 year old Australian diplomat has died after falling to his death in the early morning hours of Wednesday morning after a ‘trust game’ gone wrong while partying at lower east-side Manhattan address.

In an exclusive via the nypost, the tabloid told of the reveler falling to his death from the seventh floor and landing on a second-floor terrace circa 1:35 a.m. at 19 Clinton St, where he lived.

He was pronounced dead at Mount Sinai Beth Israel hospital, sources said.

Police told of the man’s death coming after a fellow reveler who Simpson hoped would catch him before falling over the ledge was unable to get to the diplomat after losing his balance.

Witnesses told cops Simpson and his wife had been out with friends for dinner and drinks and upon returning home, went up to the roof to enjoy the view of the Empire State Building.

The diplomat, who served as the second secretary to the UN for Australia, then climbed to a higher roof landing, where he began swinging a female friend around, sources said.

The ‘trust game’ told sources led to the woman’s 24 year old husband confronting Simpson over his swinging. The two men then stepped back outside, with Simpson allegedly telling the husband that he meant no harm.

But that’s where things soon became undone.

In a bid to prove to the husband that he could be trusted, Simpon suggested playing the ‘trust game’ — in which the Aussie diplomat would lean back on the ledge and trust the husband to catch him before falling.

‘I will prove that you can trust me,’ Simpson told the husband, according to police sources. ‘Let’s play the trust game.’

Simpson climbed onto the ledge and began to lean back. The man told investigators that he put his arm out to catch Simpson, only for Simpson slipping and falling to his death.

Investigators say foul play is not suspected told the the nypost.

Of note, revelers who’d gathered at Simpson’s residence conceded drinking, with cops reporting a strong odor of alcohol on those involved. No charges are expected to be pressed.
