Alejandra Marin and Juan Sanchez Moreno adoptive Moreno Valley parents charged after 10 year old son dies during medical distress episode as parents now face murder, torture, and child abuse charges.

A California couple are facing felony charges after their 10-year-old ‘adopted’ son was brought to a Moreno Valley hospital ‘in medical distress’ and later died.

Deputies responded to the 13000 block of Malibu Court in Moreno Valley around 6:30 p.m. Thursday to a report of juvenile medical aid, according to the Riverside County Sheriff’s Department. They found the 10-year-old boy in medical distress upon arrival and rushed him to a hospital.

The boy’s health continued to decline and several hours later, the boy was dead. The boy’s exact cause of death was not stated and his identity will not be disclosed officials stated.

Possible neglect and abuse at hands of adoptive parents

The child’s adoptive parents, 51-year-old Alejandra Marin and 59-year-old Juan Sanchez Moreno, were charged with murder, torture, and child abuse.

Inmate search records for Marin indicate she was booked at the Robert Presley Detention Center with no bail. Her first court date is set for Tuesday morning.

No inmate search records for Moreno were immediately available, KTLA reported.

Sheriff’s officials said the initial investigation revealed signs of possible neglect and abuse. The department’s Central Homicide Unit was requested and assumed the investigation, Eyewitness News reported.
