The suspect, identified by police as 32-year-old homeless man, Mia Williams, fled following the attack. He was arrested following an overnight search just on 5am, Thursday morning. Unclear is what motivated the seemingly unprovoked attack.
‘At this time, [investigators] are on scene, trying to basically solve this puzzle, to figure out why this heinous crime was committed,’ Tallahassee Police Department spokesman Damon Miller was reported saying.
Of note, police said Williams identified as a black female.
Miller said it’s unclear if Williams knew the woman or what may have provoked the attack.
