Laquita Lewis a 34 year old Texas mother has been charged with capital murder after allegedly stabbing her four year old daughter to death.
Notice of the toddler’s death came Sunday are police found the body of the woman’s daughter, Fredricka Allen at the family’s Timberwalk Apartments, a residential complex in northwest Houston.
A report via the Houston Chronicle cited police saying that the girl likely dying three hours earlier and having been left in the home by the mother.
It was while Lewis was fleeing the murder scene that she became involved a car accident, leading to her being taken to hospital.
Upon arriving, the mother sent text messages suggesting she’d ‘hurt’ the girl and had done ‘something bad’.
The messages in turn led to concerned family members to reach out to authorities.

Harris County Sheriff’s Officers described the discovery of Fredricka’s body as ‘horrific’.
Told Deputy Thomas Gill, ‘It’s a horrible situation’.
Told the mother when confronted about the toddler’s death, ‘She’s in heaven’.
While police have yet to describe the exact circumstances leading to the child’s death, sources told via KHOU that Lewis carried out the killing in an ‘angry rage’ after a domestic dispute with her boyfriend who has not been named.
Define domestic dispute?
It wasn’t clear if the boyfriend was the child’s father and whether the toddler’s death was the result of the woman seeking retribution?
Of note, the Houston Chronicle notes Laquita Lewis less than a year ago ‘waving a knife’ at her 16-year-old son and threatening to murder the boy. At the time the mother was served with a mere 15 months of probation.
Prior to threatening her son, one of three teenage boys, Lewis had family court cases, with court records indicating the mother having several paternity suits against two different men, all which were dismissed.
‘Our heart goes out to a four-year-old girl named Fredricka Allen, her father, siblings and other family members,’ Harris County District Attorney Kim Ogg said Monday in a statement.
Adding, ‘The unnatural act of a mother killing her own child is among the toughest for society to comprehend.’
Lewis was set to appear before state District Judge Maria Jackson on Tuesday, where she will be formally arraigned and an attorney will likely be appointed.
Despite reportedly living in a property in Timberwalk Homes, a report via the dailymail told of Lewis’s name not registered to any address there.
One bedroom apartments which come with a communal swimming pool and gym cost upwards of $600 a month rent.
Lewis’ name is attached to a less polished property a 10 minute walk away.
Relatives of the girl were so distraught that chaplains were sent to the apartment complex to console them, KHOU reports.
Representatives at Timberwalk Apartments come Monday weren’t available to confirm how long the family had been living there or if police had previously been called to the address.
If convicted, the mother faces execution or life in prison.
