Torey Branch a 34 year old NY man has been accused of beating his seven month pregnant girlfriend in a bid to force a miscarriage after the 35 year old woman refused to abort their unborn child.
The March 28, 2014 beating tell court documents came after the man googled how to kill an unborn baby. So bad was the beating Mia Jones incurred, the woman was forced into having an emergency c- section in order to remove the dead child’s remains.
Cited phrases Branch is alleged to have googled two months before the beating include phrases like ‘Can being hit in the stomach cause a miscarriage?’ and ‘What happens if a pregnant woman gets hit in the stomach?’.
One google prompt even included the following: ‘I’m 14 weeks pregnant and my partner hit me in the stomach, will this harm my baby?’
As recent as two weeks leading into the vicious attack, Assistant District Attorney Joanna Lettieri told of Torey Branch googling on his web browser, ‘Can being hit in the stomach cause a miscarriage’.
According to a report via the nypost, Branch is alleged to have deleted texts he wrote to his girlfriend days leading up to the beating, including the morning of.
Told one text, hours before the attack: ‘I want to fxck’.
The beating according to police reports took place whilst Jones was on her way home from a doctor’s appointment when Branch and another masked man are alleged to have savagely beaten the woman up.
The beating tells a report via the nydailynews left Jones with two fractured eyes along with needing two blood transfusions and stitches for the wound to her eye.
Days after the incident, Jones, who has three other children, went on social media where she took Branch to task.
‘I made a collage of me, Torey and the baby and put a caption saying she didn’t deserve this,’ wrote the battered woman.
Testifying in Branch’s Brooklyn Supreme Court criminal trial on February 6, the woman told of her deceased unborn child: ‘I just wanted to hold her I wanted her to breathe and wake up, she was lifeless so was so innocent and beautiful. I loved her with all my life’.
Told the woman of her injuries: ‘My face was really big and heavy… I was in the most pain of my entire life’.
During testimony, Branch’s attorneys argued that Jones had multiple sexual partners, one of which could have been responsible for the attack.
If convicted, Torey Branch faces up to 25 years in prison. He is charged with burglary, abortion, and criminal trespass.
