The show set against a forested backdrop, composed of a network of twigs, branches and lights — was set into motion by a folk-rock band. Shelly Colvin, Cory Chisel and Keegan Dewitt performed in remarkable synchronicity with the looks, to evoke nature and the country. Muted colors like tan, white, grey and grays were common, while blue and green sports jackets and gold wedges added flavor. Fleece, plaid, leather, linen, jersey and cashmere constituted the materials, while quilted shorts definitely caught viewer’s eyes.

The GQ menswear designer of the year award earned Reid $350,000 in cash prizes, he’s elegantly reinvested into his business, showroom, warehouse and community. Enlisting a chain of stores, across the United States, since his having drowned in lieu of the September 11th attacks, Billy Reid has come a long way. One if not the only designer, appealing to both women and men—Reid’s lady is proper, simple and conservatively cool.
