SCV: Who writes your songs?
AS: I work closely with Alex Cantrall. We’re set to release an album. That’s why we’re here today-to shoot the lead single that will introduce it.
SCV: How do you see the music you sing versus the music that was coming out of say the 70’s?
AS: I think like anything, musicians were drawing on their influences and reacting to the times- and I think that will never change. I think trends will always come and go- it’s the way you interpret things and keep it fresh that counts.
SCV: And where did you get the idea to pursue dance music?
AS: You know I think it’s something I relate to- being a product of the internet, instant music, the rapid times, what sounds good, happy, energetic- it just made sense. But the irony is I grew up in a small town in Connecticut, living your typical suburban life. Going to Catholic school.
SCV: Isn’t it any wonder? So where to from here?
AS: I‘m just going to play my music. (she stops to think for a minute). Actually I’m going to rock the world for you.
And just as she has sat down and arrived, she’s once again up, another make up artist fussing over her, her eyes once again reaching over the wide horizon, her long limbs once again poised, the busy roar off a not too distant audience in her head tearing her delightfully apart.
