PONTIAC, MI – In what must have been the most awkward get away ever, a 400-pound woman named Jerrie Perkins was tasered after allegedly being caught shoplifting $600 worth of electronics from a Meijer store when her motorized car got stuck in the exit door. Reportedly the staff asked the woman for her receipts and she became violent, hitting the the store’s loss-prevention officer in the face, drawing police.
Here’s how the spectacle, fit for a Walmart, went down according to The Daily Mail:
When a deputy arrived and asked the 30-year-old to put her hands behind her back, she ‘cursed at the deputy, balled her right hand into a fist and took a fighting stance’.
The deputy then pulled his Taser and told Perkins to put her hands behind her back.
Instead she brought her fist up over her head and looked directly at the deputy – who then tasered her.
And you thought Gaga at Grammy Awards was the most dramatic oddity of the year…
Which is segues nicely into noting that Perkins, who has since been released on $15,000 bail, describes herself as a “singer/songwriter/DJ,” according to Friendster — a site for social gaming and sometimes online dating.
Also integral to the story, by most accounts, Perkins announced she’s ‘looking for girls who are real, that don’t care if I am overweight,’ according to her profile. Surprisingly for the tabloids, nobody yet has noted that she’s probably just about to find them.
