Lin claims he would choose to work there if all else fails.

The night was hosted by the New York editor of The Rumpus, Rozalia Jovanovic and starred founder and editor-in-chief, Stephen Elliot, who urged audience members to “get comfortable” creating a living-room-esque scene for the readings and performances to come.  It wasn’t a debauchery driven celebratory event, the drinks were too expensive, but I did spot one bald man sipping from airplane bottles.

Rozalia Jovanovic got her start at The Rumpus by simply stumbling upon the site a year ago, liking its honest and interesting edge and offering to start a large New York Branch. “It dealt with culture the way mass media does not,” Jovanovic pointed out.

I sat down with the ever interesting and honest Stephen Elliott, who is now off pills. I suppose this means no Adderall Diaries: Part Two?  His curiosity and cleverness is exactly what keeps The Rumpus interesting and alive.

When The New York Times starts charging for their site, do you expect websites like The Rumpus to become reader’s news and article source?

I have no idea. The Rumpus has really turned a corner in the past month; it’s by far our biggest month. Big articles, the Facebook article was our largest…

For those of you who have yet to stumble upon it, the article he is speaking of is: Conversations About the Internet #5: Anonymous Facebook Employee Fascinating tid bit is the universal Chuck Norris password, but you’ll have to read it to understand.

…it will have half a million page views by the end of the month. We’re getting to the point of having sustainable traffic for a literary website.
