Have you ever experienced what I like to call a ‘sucks for you’ situation? Not sure what I mean, well maybe this news story will give you a better idea. About 180 employees in Atlanta were asked to give back thousands of dollars to the county because they were overpaid, get this…16 years ago!

The chief financial officer of Gwinnett County, Aaron Bovos, says they need the money back in order to “clean up receivables and to eliminate outstanding obligations.”

Are you still with me? This county wants to collect over $39,000 from the employees that were overpaid back in flipping 1994, all due to a payroll glitch that was their fault in the first damn place. The company wants the staff to pay with either cash or by taking unpaid vacation time. They can’t be serious about this. They may want the employees to give the money back, but they’re definitely not going to get the worker’s money. This is a situation I’d like to call ‘sucks for you.’
