I fall into this category because everyone that comes in, I treat as a canvas that I want to beautifully work on while bringing out all the small details that really define the beauty in something!
SCV: What are some of the books that patrons can expect to find on your bookshelf? Besides your charm and amazing looks what other things can we expect to find out once they enter your lair?
Sergio: They can expect to find books on the top restaurants in NYC since I’m a foodie, as well as old fashion magazines that have pictures in them of looks that brought the fashion world to existance! They will also find a fashion showcase with fashion pieces from all over the world that are sold exclusively to my clients. All my clients also get served a complimentary cocktail sponsored by NUVO Vodka who is my official sponsor! Lastly; they’ll find the definition of “relaxation”.
SCV: What have been some of your most memorable experiences as a celebrity stylist?
Sergio: Working on high fashion Runway Shows during Fashion Week, NY and being one of two stylist with 20 models to style for a show. One specific show, the models didn’t want their hair touched and so I had to convince them quickly with no time to spare and by the time they agreed to doing their hair, I had very little time yet mastered the art piece of each individual model.
SCV: You have developed a very bold pricing initiative where clients pay you what they feel they should pay you upon completion of your services. Would you agree that is a very clever way for your clients to ingratiate you? Do you suspect that some of your clients may want to move in with you?
Sergio: I definitely do as when I get a payment from a client, I can measure whether they loved or liked the cut/style and it helps me to measure what to do on their next visit. Definitely clients want to move in – I know this as several times I’ve had clients say “Can I move in here?”
SCV: Define style and what makes you stylish?
Sergio: Style to me is the trend that is accepted in society in different parts of the world and what each individual puts into it to make it their own. What makes me stylish is that I am always changing with the time/fashion trends, yet I put my personal touch on everything which makes it my own unique style!
SCV: If Lindsay Lohan were to come in as a client what would you do for her?
Sergio: If Lindsay Lohan came into my salon, the VERY first thing I’d do is giver her the signature “D’Larosa Treatment” – something I created for my clients that bring texture, shine and body to the hair. After that, I’d see how open she’d be to a hair transformation to maybe open up her facial features and make her look more beautiful then ever!
SCV: Finally are your clients ever tempted to sleep with you?
Sergio; I’m someone who’s so focused on doing my job right, that I’m always focused on the final transformation! However; there are many instances where my publicist tells me “Sergio, that client just gave you the eye. She wants you” and my response was “Really? I thought she was waiting for my next remark on how to better her hair and overall appearance”. So all in all, you never know!
