Define flying etiquette?
Video from the cabin shows passengers pleading with Harris to be considerate, with some chanting ‘get off the plane’ as frustration mounted. One man seated nearby urged her to think of others catching connecting flights, while others voiced anger at the collective delay. Sadly, it was not to be.
According to a passenger on the plane, Harris used profanity toward flight attendants when they asked her to get off the phone and toward those sitting around her, leading to the plane’s delay.
Following her arrest, Harris was released on a $500 bond and charged with first-degree misdemeanour trespassing under Florida law, carrying potential penalties of up to one year in jail and a $1,000 fine. Reports suggest she may also face federal charges for interfering with crew duties.
Delta Flight 1323 took off about an hour late after the recalcitrant passenger being removed, Fox 5 Atlanta reported.
The Federal Aviation Administration warns that non-compliance or disruptive conduct can lead to fines, jail time, and travel bans. Delta reiterated its ‘zero tolerance for disruptive behavior’ policy, emphasizing that safety takes precedence over all else.
