Person of interest in Nancy Guthrie kidnapping detained, mom yet to be found as SWAT operation being launched near daughter Annie’s home amid internet speculation that her husband, Tommaso Cioni, bandmate, Dominic Evans might be kidnapping suspect in FBI released video on Tuesday.
Authorities have detained a person of interest in connection with the Nancy Guthrie kidnapping case, while also stating the 84-year-old matriarch had yet to be found.
Authorities reportedly detained the individual in a location south of Tucson, Arizona, ABC News reported. The subject was detained during a traffic stop south of Tucson, in Rio Rico, roughly 12 miles from the U.S.-Mexico border the Pima County Sheriff’s Department said in a statement.
To date authorities have yet to release the individual’s identity as the internet speculated that the wanted kidnapping suspect may in fact be that of Tommaso Cioni, Nancy’s son in law bandmate, Dominic Aaron Lee Evans.

Law enforcement agents are now reportedly readying to search the location linked to said individual. Authorities stressed to say that the person had only been detained and not arrested or charged with any crime.
There was a law enforcement presence near the home of Annie Guthrie, one of Nancy Guthrie’s daughters. Search and rescue teams were canvassing the area around her home, including what appears to be a wooded area.
TMZ reported that the person detained is not a member of the Guthrie family. Not immediately clear is whether the person detained is the same ‘armed, masked’ individual seen in the footage released Tuesday morning disconnecting ring bell camera at the missing mom’s Tucson address.

FBI Director Kash Patel speaking to FOX News’ Sean Hannity said that there are now ‘persons of interest’ in the Guthrie kidnapping case. This comes after both the Pima County Sheriff’s Office and FBI had announced there were no suspects or persons of interest in the case for the time being.
Nancy was last seen in the evening of Jan. 31 when her son-in-law, Tommaso Cioni, dropped her off at her house after she had dinner with him and Annie at their home, Pima County Sheriff Chris Nanos previously told The New York Times.
She was initially reported missing on Feb. 1 by her family after she did not show up at a friend’s home to livestream a church service as planned.

‘We believe our mom is still out there and we need your help,’ Savannah Guthrie said in a short video posted to Instagram.
