Teddi Page New Orleans Sacred Heart teacher charged with having prohibited sexual conduct between educator and female student just days after starting new job at Catholic all girls school.
A New Orleans teacher at a Catholic school has been arrested following accusations of having a sexual relationship with a female student.
Teddi Page, 29, an educator at the Academy of the Sacred Heart turned herself in to authorities on Thursday following allegations she had been having a sexual relationship with the student for several months.
Upon her arrest, Teddi Page was booked on a misdemeanor charge of a ‘Prohibited sexual conduct between educator and student,’ FOX8 reported.
According to the school’s website, Sacred Heart is a Catholic, independent, private, all-girls school (age 1- grade 12) in New Orleans.
States the school’s home page, ’Sacred Heart is a way of life. Are you ready?’
Sacred Heart teacher starts sexual relationship with student victim days after starting new job at all girls private school
The teacher’s arrest follows the victim’s mother reporting the illicit relationship to the principal of Academy of the Sacred Heart, where Page was employed as a biology teacher. The educator started working at the private all girls school in August, 2025, WDSU reported.
The victim’s mother allegedly found texts, images and videos and showing her 18-year-old daughter and Page in a sexual relationship. The victim’s mother discovered the relationship when she looked at an old phone that was still logged into her daughter’s social media accounts according to an arrest warrant cited by WWL-TV.
The warrant states that Page was called into the office and fired and escorted off school grounds after the victim’s mother left. Detectives spoke with the victim, who said her first interaction with the teacher was in August, according to the warrant.
Background check and references revealed no issues
Academy of the Sacred Heart Head of School Gretchen Zibilich Kane in a Friday statement said Page’s background check and references revealed no issues, and that school faculty, staff and students are trained to observe appropriate boundaries and report safety concerns to administration.
“We are supporting the student and her family who have come forward and are providing resources and counseling for our students who may be upset about these developments,” Kane said.
During a magistrate court hearing Friday, attorneys and the judge discussed allegations that included a kiss between Page and the student. However, the affidavit states the alleged relationship went further.
Abuse of position, trust, authority and power
Court documents allege the two had sex multiple times, based on statements provided by the student. In the documents, the student alleges that the encounters allegedly occurred at several locations, including Page’s home and inside a vehicle parked behind a restaurant.
Page appeared in court on Friday with a judge setting her bond at $15,000.
Prosecutors requested a restraining order against Page, but the magistrate judge denied the request, noting the student is 18 years old and the relationship was described as consensual.
Despite that, Loyola University law professor Dane Ciolino said Louisiana law still prohibits such relationships because of the power imbalance between educators and students.
“It is a misdemeanor given that this is a consensual relationship,” Ciolino told WWL-TV. ‘But because of the power imbalance, the Legislature decided that even though this student happens to be a major, the student is still subject to protection.’
Page is scheduled to next appear in court on Tuesday, Feb. 10.
