A much beloved 19-year-old college student was killed over the weekend after losing control of her car and crashing into a guardrail along New Jersey’s I-95.
Siena Marie Brachelli, of Chesterfield, N.J, died on Saturday, Jan. 31, 2026, after she lost control of her car on I-95 in Northeast Philadelphia and crashed into a guardrail, Pennsylvania State Police said.
The crash happened on I-95 northbound near Exit 32 (Academy Road) at around 11:36 a.m., NBC Philadelphia reported citing police.
How did 19-year-old driver lose control of vehicle along I-95?
At the time of the tragedy, Siena Brachelli was driving a white Acura MDX in the left lane when she lost control and drove into the left shoulder. The teen then crashed into a guardrail and overturned into the median, police said.
Brachelli, was pronounced dead at the scene and the next of kin were notified, the Daily Voice reported.
Brachelli, a political science major at Saint Joseph’s University in Philadelphia, was a member of the Delta Psi chapter of Sigma Sigma Sigma sorority and a service supervisor at Ordinarie Heros. A 2024 graduate of Notre Dame High School in Lawrenceville, N.J, she is survived by her parents and brothers.
The crash remains under investigation by the Pennsylvania State Police, who have yet to publicly announce any potential causes for why Brachelli may have lost control of her vehicle.
