A mobile home fire in Murrieta, California has led to a mother grieving the loss her two young daughters who tragically were killed during the blaze over the weekend.
At around 4:42 a.m. local time on Saturday, Dec. 20, Murrieta Fire & Rescue (MFR) received reports of a residential structure fire on the 41000 block of Knight Drive, according to a news release. Upon arrival, first responders arrived to find a mobile home fully engulfed, along with a carport, three vehicles, two outbuildings and a large pine tree.
Firefighters aggressively battled the blaze while searching the property for trapped residents. The release stated that five family members were inside the burning property.

Two occupants and ‘multiple household pets’ died due to the blaze, while three occupants were accounted for and transported to a local area hospital.
The deceased were identified as two young sisters, with the surviving family members identified as the girls’ mother, Stacey Hales, the children’s father and a 12 year old girl, My Valley News reported.
Crews were able to extinguish the flames in around 45 minutes.
A GoFundMe fundraiser created by ‘close friend,’ Andrea Raikoglo stated Hales currently being hospital and ‘not having any eyesight’ along with the mom losing all her possessions and vehicle.
A post on Facebook stated that children’s father also receiving hospital treatment, while their surviving 12-year-old daughter was staying with her uncle.
Murrieta officials continue to investigate the origin and cause of the fire.
