A male student has died after they were stabbed to death during a fight at a North Carolina high school. The incident which occurred at North Forsyth High School in Forsyth County, Winston-Salem, NC, left a second boy critically injured.
The incident began as an altercation on campus just on 11 a.m, Tuesday morning allegedly at a school bathroom. The student victim collapsed in the hallway and did not survive according to Winston-Salem Police Chief William Penn, Jr.

North Carolina school placed on temporary lockdown
The incident led to officials locking down the school according to WFMY before parents re-uniting with students at the Joel Coliseum.
Investigators declined to identify the students involved and what led up to the violence.
Blurred video footage (editorial discretion) leading up to the school stabbing showed a student waking down a hallway towards a restroom area as multiple students gathered before a fight involving two male students erupting. Following the fight, one student exits the restroom and collapses in the hallway. A second student is seen holding a knife in the aftermath.

‘Today is a dark day for our city,’ Penn said in part during a Tuesday afternoon press briefing. ‘Our students, our teachers all the staff at North Forsyth High School will need all of us as a community to come together to put an end to senseless violence.’
‘Today is the worst nightmare of any educator. We hurt when our students hurt, and this is the ultimate hurt that we can possibly feel,’ said Winston-Salem/Forsyth County Schools Superintendent Dr. Don Phipps.
Officials yet to announce if charges are forthcoming
Hilda Foster, a grandparent of an NFHS student, spoke with FOX8 while students and parents were being reunited.
‘It was just devastating to have something like this … happen today,’ she said. ‘It’s sad that we’re coming to this. I just hate that this world is this way. I really do. I hope that … we’ll all come together in unity and great faith.’
Foster urged parents to talk to their children and listen to them.
Officials have yet to announce whether charges will now be forthcoming.
