A married North Carolina mother of two is accused of initiating 80 individual cases of child sex abuse against multiple underaged victims, including two 12 years old boys.
Sara Jean Sellers, of Shallotte, N.C, following her arrest on Thursday was charged with 20 counts each of statutory rape of a child under the age of 15, statutory sex offense with a child under 15, and indecent liberties with a child, according to the Brunswick County Sheriff’s Office.
The 44-year-old married mother-of-two was also charged with 10 counts of statutory sex offense with a child by an adult plus 10 counts of statutory rape of a child by adult.
Defense sought bond of $400K, with presiding judge setting bond at $2M.
Investigators have not specified the number of Sellers’ alleged victims.
Nevertheless, during a court hearing Friday, prosecutors claimed two of the alleged victims were 12-year-old boys, reported WWAY.
Detectives are still interviewing two other boys who may have been victimized by Sellers.
It remained unclear how the mother of two met her victims and was able to sexually abuse them.
Prosecutors allege the sexual assaults happening between 2018 and 2019 according to a Facebook release.
Sellers according to her defense attorneys has been married for 22 years and has two daughters.
The defense attorney asked for a $400,000 secured bond but the judge appointed a $2 million secured bond.
