Allison Rahmani Long Island mom of 4 and Jewish teacher killed after losing control of her SUV and driving into backyard swimming pool at family’s Nassau County residence as authorities now investigate tragedy.
A driver who died after crashing their SUV into a backyard swimming pool on Long Island has been identified as a mother of four who taught at a Jewish school.
Allison Rahmani, 40, was behind the wheel when she lost control of her car, which plunged into the swimming pool at her home in Hewlett, Nassau County, on Friday just on 9.30 a.m, JNS reported.

The vehicle struck a tree, then a parked and unoccupied 2006 Honda before plunging into the inground pool, cops said. Photos from the scene showed the front end of the car submerged in the pool with the back end sticking out. All four tires had left the ground.
Rahmani was removed from the car before first responders arrived, and police initiated life saving measures once they got there, authorities said. However, Rahmani was pronounced dead at a local hospital.
The mom of four was a teacher and math coordinator at the Hebrew Academy of the Five Towns and Rockaway, while her husband, Matthew, is president of Irving Place Minyan Modern Orthodox synagogue in Woodmere.
Husband pays tribute to wife and Jewish mom of 4
Matthew described how his 40-year-old wife had supported him through everything, recounting how they had ‘lived paycheck to paycheck’ in their first apartment as the built their life together.
‘Every major decision point in our lives, you took me by the hand, you pulled me, you said it would be OK, that you believed in me, in us,’ the grieving husband said according to the nypost.
Tributes were paid to Rahmani under a community Facebook post sharing the news.
‘Tragic! She was the most amazing person. I can’t believe she’s gone,’ one user wrote.
‘Always a smile, a friendly chat. Baruch dayan ha’emet [Blessed is the true judge], & condolences to her family,’ added another.
What caused mom of 4 to lose control of SUV?
‘She was a LIGHT that shined from the minute she walked in til the minute she left. Always appreciative and kind to us all. She will be missed,’ wrote a third.
Authorities have yet to say whether the tragedy was the result of mechanical failure or human error.
The incident continues to remain under investigation.
