Madeline Gregory aka Madeline Scoon, Sprague high school teacher in Washington state arrested over sexual trysts with 16-year-old student, begging boy not to end things, demanding he not date fellow students, threatening to kill self amid marriage problems.
A Washington state high school teacher has admitted to having sexual trysts with a 16-year-old student — including in a classroom closet and even in school bushes, according to court documents.
Madeline Gregory, a married teacher at Sprague High School and church youth leader, who was arrested on Monday conceded to the alleged illicit episodes according to court records obtained by the Spokesman-Review.
The boy’s mom had first alerted police a day after Valentine’s Day after finding messages on her son’s phone — including one message from the female teacher that stated, ‘I don’t want to lose you’ when the boy tried to end things.
Sexual trysts took place in classroom and gym closet
Cops reviewed surveillance footage that showed Gregory — who was also known as Madeline Scoon — regularly staying behind with the boy after hours, even though he had good grades, the records showed.
They were seen going into a classroom closet for up to 45 minutes, where the educator admitted having sexual intercourse with the victim, which the boy corroborated according to court documents.
The teacher also admitted to kissing and fondling the teen victim in a gym closet — as well as in bushes by the school’s tennis courts, court documents stated.
The boy had been Gregory’s student for two years, even becoming her phys ed aide, but started spending more time with her in September, his mom told investigators.
Spague teacher opened up to victim about marital problems
They spent time together after school — even on weekends, according to the mom, who grew suspicious at her son texting someone into the night.
Those texts showed that the teacher opened up to the young teen about marital problems, mentioning a potential divorce, according to texts seen by the Spokesman-Review.
‘I know it might be awkward, but I don’t want to lose you,’ the teacher allegedly wrote to the teen boy.
They also socialized away from school grounds. In December, they met at an Airway Heights Walmart parking lot before leaving together in her car, returning to the store more than two hours later, according to the documents.
Victim was ordered not to date other teens, told teacher would kill self if he ‘ended things’
Gregory allegedly ordered the boy not to date anyone from within Sprague — a small city with under 600 people.
The boy told police he tried to end the relationship only for Gregory threatening to kill herself.
Gregory appeared in Lincoln County District Court on Tuesday on suspicion of sexual misconduct with a minor and communicating with a minor for immoral purposes.
Her bond was set at $50,000 and she has been ordered not to have any contact with children, KHQ reported.
Raymond Leaver, principal of the Sprague School District, said the district is taking the allegations ‘extremely seriously’ and is cooperating with police.
