Jenna Strouble, St. John, Indiana woman arrested in the shooting deaths of her on and off boyfriend, Jacob Lambert & the father of her children and his parents, Stacy and Patrick Forde at their Crete Township, Illinois home.
A woman with a history of mental health issues has been arrested in the shooting deaths of her ‘on and off’ boyfriend along with the man’s parents at their Illinois home.
Jenna Strouble, 30, upon her arrest was charged with nine counts of first-degree murder in the deaths of 32-year-old Jacob Lambert and his parents, 54-year-old Stacy Forde and 55-year-old Patrick Forde.
Illinois ‘One Good Count’ rule allows multiple counts over a single crime.
Fractured home life
Strouble and Lambert were involved in an on-and-off romantic relationship and had children together, according to the Will County Sheriff’s Office.
Deputies were called to the family’s home in unincorporated Crete Township, Illinois, for a welfare check around 2 a.m. Monday. When they arrived, they found Lambert’s body in a car in the driveway. His parents were found dead inside the home, near the front door.
Deputies say Strouble fled from the family’s home after the shootings back to her home in St. John, Indiana, where local police took her into custody later that day. Authorities also recovered a firearm they say matches the weapon used to kill the victims.
The accused killer had a troubled, on-off relationship with Lambert, who recently became sober, according to his family and officials. The couple had two young kids, Ella and Rhett.
Killer mom involuntarily committed as recently as January
Deputies were previously called to a domestic battery at the house they shared in January last year — which ended with Strouble being involuntarily committed.
‘Our hearts are incredibly heavy, and there truly aren’t words for a loss like this,’ one of Lambert’s relatives, Emily Conner, wrote on Facebook.
‘Jake had just celebrated one year of sobriety something we were so proud of and that meant so much.’
Strouble was being held at an Indiana jail until she’s extradited to Illinois to face charges.
