An individual who fired a volley of shots during a Rhode Island ice hockey match at the at a Pawtucket ice rink on Monday was a ‘trans father’ who had targeted his ex wife and their children.
While authorities had yet to identify the shooter, social media identified the shooter as 56-year-old Robert Dorgan going by the name of Roberta Esposito. The shooting left three dead, including the shooter and three others seriously injured.
At the time of the shooting, the gunman had come to see their son, a North Providence High School senior play for one of the two teams during Monday afternoon’s game.

Trans shooter dad threatened to go ‘BERSERK’ day before shooting
An unidentified source on social media stated that they previously played hockey with one of the suspect’s sons, who was reportedly among those targeted during Monday’s incident.
According to the source, the suspect, Robert Dorgan, fatally shot his son and opened fire on his ex-wife and another individual during their son’s Senior Night hockey game.
The gunman’s ex wife, Rhonda Dorgan died at the scene while the couples son later died at hospital. Along with critically injuring three others, including the shooter’s former mother-in-law and father-in-law, the shooter then turned the weapon on themselves, ending their life.

Pawtucket Ice rink shooting suspect was transitioning from male to female
Initial reports indicate that the father was transitioning from male to female and had fired at five members of his own family during a high school match involving mixed teams, Monday afternoon.
Read a post shared on X; ‘This is the shooter at the ice rink. I played hockey with his son who is one of the victims he shot at. He killed his young daughter and shot his ex wife and someone else at his other son’s senior night. Psychopath used to come to games dressed like a woman one day and lifting dumbbells pacing back and forth the next.’
Following the shooting, a woman told WCVB that her father was the shooter.
‘He shot my family, and he’s dead now,’ the unidentified woman said, adding that he ‘has mental health issues.’
