Ohio authorities have arrested the husband of a woman who was shot to death early Monday morning during a purported home burglary gone wrong. Tipp City investigators have now determined that evidence points to the deceased woman’s husband killing her in a ‘targeted attack.’
Caleb Carl Flynn, 39, a former pastor and American Idol contestant was on Thursday charged with the shooting death of his wife, Ashley Flynn, 37. Upon his arrest Caleb was charged with one count of homicide, two counts of felonious assault, and two counts of tampering with evidence.

The spouse was booked into the Miami County Jail at approximately 5:07 p.m., Thursday, WHIO reported.
Authorities found probable cause to charge Caleb with murder; however, specific investigative details were not released due to the ongoing investigation according to Tipp City Police Chief Greg Adkins.

At the time of Ashley’s shooting death just on 2.30 a.m, Monday, the husband claimed that he and their two children were asleep when a purported home invasion took place at their Cunningham Court residence leading to the Christian mom and school teacher being fatally shot.
911 dispatch calls revealed a caller stating, ‘Someone broke into the RP’s house, unknown if they are still there. Garage door is open.’

The caller, now thought to be Caleb went on to say that a female was reportedly shot and not responding and there were kids in the home.
Adkins said at the time that the investigation was complex.
‘Without getting into the details of it, there is a lot of, a lot of moving parts and a lot of stuff that is related to this,’ he said.
Ashley Flynn’s husband, Caleb, was an “American Idol” contestant, and shared his love for his wife during an interview for the show.
No known murder motive
‘I absolutely love the Lord. I love my wife more than anything. She is very, very pretty. … I love her,’ Caleb said in a 2013 Hometown Interview segment for the hit competition show. ‘But, you know, I’m just a normal person who absolutely loves to sing more than anything in the world.’
The couple who shared two daughters had been married for 16 years.
According to Caleb Flynn’s LinkedIn profile, the former music pastor is a vice president of sales at Richard D. Smith & Sons Inc., a family-run single source supplier for commercial flooring and worship seats, according to the business website.

Officials did not outline a motive in the shooting of the man’s wife. Chief Adkins said that further updates on the case will be handled by the Miami County Prosecutor’s Office.
Nevertheless social media was awash with allegations from that Caleb had become clandestinely involved with another member of their church, with Ashley purportedly threatening to leave her husband following her husband’s betrayal. To date none of this ‘gossip’ has been verified. (see immediate above video).
A celebration of life service for Ashley Flynn is to be held on Sunday, February 22, at 4.p.m, at Christian Life Center in Dayton.
Caleb Flynn remains booked in the Miami County Jail.
