A Georgia man is alleged to have shot and killed four family members including his wife as the couple’s 12 year old hid in a closet and called 911.
Vijay Kumar, 51, was arrested early Friday morning after police responded to a report of gunshots at a Lawrenceville home around 2:30 a.m. and discovered four people dead, according to the Gwinnett County Police Department.
Kumar’s wife, Meemu Dogra, 43, and their relatives who lived at the home, Gourav Cumar, 33, Nidhi Chander, 37, and Harish Chander, 38, were identified as the fatalities according to police.

Kumar was found near the home and was taken into custody without incident, police said.
Leading up to the shooting, an argument had erupted between Kumar and Dogra at their home in Atlanta, and they traveled to the Lawrenceville home that evening with their 12-year-old child, authorities added.
Two other children, aged 7 and 10, also lived at the home and hid in the closet during the shooting with Kumar and Dogra’s 12-year-old — who then called 911 to report the shooting, according to cops.
All three children were found physically unharmed when police arrived at the scene.
Police said they do not know what the argument was about or why Kumar and Dogra went to the Lawrenceville residence, but believe the killings are ‘domestic-related.’

Not immediately clear is whether the all four murdered family members were on the wife’s family side.
Kumar upon his arrest was booked on a slew of charges, including four counts of aggravated assault, four counts of felony murder, four counts of malice murder, one count of first-degree cruelty to children, and two counts of third-degree cruelty to children.
