Florida cheerleader killed on Carnival Cruise ‘fought for her life’ according to Anna Kepner’s aunt, Krystal Wright as family members now demand an arrest in the case.
A family member of an 18-year-old Florida cheerleader found slain on a Carnival Cruise at the beginning of the month has claimed the teen ‘fought for her life,’ as they now demand authorities ‘finally’ arrest the girl’s 16 year old step brother.
‘I know Anna fought. I know she fought for her life, so it’s rough. It’s rough,’ Anna Kepner’s aunt, Krystal Wright, told FOX 35.
Despite Anna Kepner’s death now being ruled a homicide, the result of strangulation by ‘mechanical asphyxiation,’ authorities have yet to press charges or make an arrest in the case. This despite the victim’s step mother, Shauntel Hudson, 36, filing a motion to not speak in a separate family law matter after admitting the FBI was investigating her 16 year old son, Timothy ‘Tim’ Hudson as a potential suspect in Kepner’s murder.
Family members demand answers and final closure into Florida cheerleader’s death
‘We don’t understand why, if the boy is a suspect, why has he not been charged yet? What’s happening there?’ Krystal Wright told FOX35. ‘It’s turmoil. We’re just sitting here waiting.’
Anna Kepner was found dead in her cabin room onboard the Carnival Horizon she shared with her 14 year old biological brother and 16-year-old stepbrother, Tim.
The 14 year old teen is alleged to have confessed to Anna’s ex boyfriend that leading up to Anna’s death he had heard his sister and the 16 year old step brother get into a ruckus from the cabin room, including screams and furniture moving. The former boyfriend even stated witnessing during a FaceTime call, Anna’s stepbrother laying ‘inappropriately’ on top of her.
The ex boyfriend further stated the step brother being infatuated with his step sister after his mother recently marrying Anna’s father, Christopher Kepner, 41, back in 2023.
Did Anna Kepner step brother kill her?
Relatives and passengers who were on the ship say they are struggling with the uncertainty that has followed the Nov. 7 incident.
On the day of Anna Kepner’s death, her body was found stashed under a cabin bed in the shared cabin, wrapped in a blanket and covered by life vests. Law enforcement have yet to make an arrest or announce a suspect or person of interest in the case as they continue to investigate.
The Miami-Dade Medical Examiner’s Office has not released or confirmed details about how Anna Kepner died.
