Texas rapper G$ Lil Ronnie aka Ronnie Smith & his 5 year old daughter, R’Mani shot dead in targeted hit at Slappy’s Car Wash in Forest Hills. No arrests.
Texas rapper G$ Lil Ronnie & his 5 year old daughter were shot dead in a brazen daylight shooting at a local car wash. The shooting comes just one day after the the musician’s daughter celebrating her birthday.
The 30-year-old rapper, real name Ronnie Smith, and daughter R’Mani were fatally shot just before 11 a.m. Monday when two men got out of a Kia vehicle, ran up to them while getting their car cleaned at Slappy’s Express Car Wash at Fort Worth‘s Forest Hill and fired off multiple gunfire, killing father and daughter before getting back in their vehicle and fleeing the scene.
Though neither of the gunmen has been publicly identified, cops said they knew the name of one man and issued a warrant for his arrest on a murder charge.
‘Somebody came through shooting and killed him and the baby,’ the rapper’s aunt, Stella Houston, told Fox 4. ‘A baby!’ she said of the girl who just turned 5.
‘He was a rapper. He didn’t bother nobody. He didn’t target nobody. He was a family man, and he was going around rapping, okay. Why would you target him?’ the aunt stated.
Adding, ‘When is it going to stop?’
Authorities said the two suspects fled in a white four-door Kia. The un-identified men were now sought in what authorities believe was a ’targeted’ shooting.
Becky Johnson, who lives across the street from the car wash, said she heard multiple rounds of gunfire, in what sounded like back to back gunfire.
‘Six the first time, and then it was half a second, and I heard six more. Then a second later, I heard three,’ the witness told FOX4. ‘I could see people fleeing for their cars.’
The episode according to Johnson led to car wash customers taking cover behind their own vehicles.
Cops believe they know at least one of the shooters, but have not released their identity.
Smith and his daughter were both pronounced dead at the scene.
A motive for the shooting wasn’t immediately known.
Lil Ronnie was best known for his 2018 single “Hoodfame Killuminati” with fellow rapper Go Yayo. His most recent Instagram post was from Valentine’s Day at his daughter’s school, where he attended a “Donuts with Daddy” celebration.
