

Marquavious Hampton, Tennessee man shoots and kills his girlfriend’s baby son, Jeriko Logue, after getting into an argument over her playing loud music at a Murfreesboro residence. He died from a self inflicted gunshot wound shortly after.
A Tennessee woman sustained gunshot wounds as she sought to protect her baby son after her boyfriend shooting at the child after the pair getting into an argument over her playing loud music. The boyfriend who shot the infant ‘multiple’ times, killing the boy, fled the scene before dying from a self inflicted gunshot wound a shortly after.
Marquavious Hampton, 25, is alleged to pull a gun on the mother and her baby after getting into a physical altercation with his girlfriend at the Chelsea Place Apartments on Sunday, circa 2.30pm.
During the altercation, Hampton opened fire on her one-year-old baby boy, who was seated in a stroller. The shooter was not biologically related to the child, NewsChannel5 reported.

The mom was hit in the hand by a bullet as she jumped in front of Hampton trying to shield her baby, according to a press release from the Murfreesboro Police Department.
The infant, identified as Jeriko Logue, was found with multiple gunshot wounds at the Murfreesboro area residence and was pronounced dead on the scene. The boy’s mother was taken to the hospital to be treated for injuries. Officials to date have not released her name.
Hampton fled the scene in a white Dodge Charger. Police used Real Time Crime Center License Plate Reader cameras to get a tag number for the suspect vehicle and issued a ‘Be On The Look’ for the car, the Daily News Journal reported.
A camera alerted Williamson County Sheriff’s Department deputies when the fleeing man entered their jurisdiction, pursuing his vehicle in the area of Critz Lane and Columbia Avenue.
Hampton ran from deputies and fled on foot into a nearby field – where he was later found dead with a self-inflicted gunshot wound. The suspect was transported to Vanderbilt University Medical Center, where he later died from his injuries, the Williamson County Sheriff’s Office press release said.

Murfreesboro shooting leaves family reeling
Baby Jeriko’s shooting death led to the boy’s family laden with grief, NewsChannel5 reported.
‘They took everything, I mean, everything from me. I don’t even have any other words. They took my whole world,’ Jeriko’s grandmother, Lucretia Logue, told the outlet. ‘I’m just lost. I don’t know what to do anymore.’
‘How could somebody be so heartless to hurt a baby? He didn’t even have time to talk. He just learned how to walk,’ Jeriko’s cousin, Enashie Wise told the outlet.
A GoFundMe page has been set up by baby Jeriko’s family to cover funeral and medical expenses.
‘Baby Jeriko was a light in all our lives—a sweet, playful, and innocent soul taken far too soon,’ the fundraiser stated.
‘He brought endless love and joy to everyone around him. Just last month, he took his first steps and spoke his first words, “mama” and “papa.” His contagious smile, dimples, and adorable curls lit up every room.’
The Murfreesboro Police Department is continuing to investigate the apartment shooting and the infant’s death.
