Arrest made in WAWA shooting

Police were called to the scene just on 8.25pm, following multiple calls of shots fired at the Poconos area store, with officers finding the 17 year old teen shot in the neck area inside the store.

Despite police making it to the scene within two minutes of the fight escalating, Sorrenti later died at hospital.

The coroner ruled cause of death as ‘a single gunshot to the back (which exited through the neck of the victim),’ according to the SARPD.

The wanted man, since identified as Andrew Quattrochi fled the scene and was arrested on Tuesday and arraigned in court later that morning on charges of homicide, assault and endangering others.

Charges against Quattrochi were filed Monday after police said their investigation led them to a white pickup truck owned and driven by Quattrochi’s father on the night of the shooting. Police said video surveillance led them to identify Andrew Quattrochi as the alleged shooter. He turned himself in to the headquarters of Stroudsburg Area Regional Police Department (SARPD) on Tuesday at 9:45 a.m.

Quattrochi was denied bail Tuesday at his preliminary arraignment before Magisterial District Judge Kristina Anzini. He is being held at Monroe County Correctional Facility. His preliminary hearing has been scheduled for Dec. 12.
