A 23 year old Ohio man has been accused of shooting his 67 year old father dead over the weekend.
Christopher Paul Farmer of Painesville, OH, appearing via video pleaded not guilty to the shooting murder during a video court arraignment, Monday afternoon.
Painesville cops said the 23 year old son shot his 67 year old father early Sunday morning.
No known motive
Officers responded to the home in the 300 block of Stanford St. around 12:53 a.m.
Without providing any details, police said the son was ‘detained at the scene’ and taken into custody. There, ‘he was interviewed and charged with murder,’ Cleveland 19 reported.
Following his court appearance, a judge ordered the son ordered held without bond.
No motive was immediately known.
Farmer is being held at Lake County Jail, according to jail records.
He is scheduled for a preliminary hearing at 9:30 a.m. Sept. 23 at Painesville Municipal Court.
Agents with the Ohio Bureau of Criminal Investigation (BCI), the Lake County Coroner and Painesville firefighters assisted police at the crime scene.
